I recently started playing a game at lessons to help owners with recall. Feel free to reuse in your family!

Family members stand about 15-20 feet away from their dog and about five feet away from each other. I’m holding the dog facing the family.

On the count of three, I release the dog and allow the dog to go to whoever the dog wants. Family members then compete to encourage the dog to come to them. Winner gets major bragging rights. 😂

The lesson helps remind owners that your dog follows fun!

If you just say “come” and then stand there like a tree, your dog is much less likely to finish the recall compared to someone who is encouraging and engaging with their dog.

I don’t have a picture of this yet, so in the mean time, here’s Cooper, looking regal and enjoying some off leash time at the hanging bog.

Sometimes I can’t help but set your dog up for a mini photo shoot during a booster lesson!

I always make it a point to send photo and videos following up any booster lesson - an hour long lesson for just your dog. So, you can see what I’m doing with your dog (and then you can copy and paste to your household.)

It doesnt matter what I can do with your dog (because I don’t live with your dog) but sometimes it is helpful to see what your dog is capable of with a little boost from a trainer!)

Our dogs have full range of the house **as long as there’s no entitlement**

I am a dog owner first, so I LOVE to snuggle up with my dogs and they love it too!

However, if I ask them to get down their answer is “yes ma’am”. If there’s any significant hesitation or reluctance then we take the furniture away for a day or two.

This happens *maybe* twice a year. It’s not often. The dogs know this is our home that we are so happy to share with them. They have earned the privilege.
