Liggett Dog Training, LLC launched in April of 2022 and aims to serve dogs and their people in the Southern Tier and surrounding areas. We offer a variety of services from puppy training to behavior modification. At the bottom of this page you will find a list of all our services and an option to see pricing.
Our priority is doing what is best for each individual dog and owner. That's why we offer a free 20 minute phone consultation where you can chat with the owner and trainer, Alex, about your dog's needs before we work together. There are also free dog walks hosted twice a year that are open to the public - see information below.

Puppy Training
Ready to set your puppy up for success!? Puppy training is such a fun way to help your puppy grow up into a well behaved dog. With puppy training, you'll prepare your new family member to be a great partner and even better companion!
Topics covered: obedience, socialization and handler development. We can work through obedience commands like: sit, lay down, place, leave it, heel, come. Behaviors like puppy biting, resource guarding and jumping up can also be addressed.
Obedience
This program is great for dogs of any age who is ready to learn basic commands like sit, stay, come, heel, place, leave it and lay down. Prepare your dog for Canine Good Citizen Program or just every day life!
This is also a great opportunity for dogs who may need a refresher or dogs that only seem to listen when you have a treat in your hand. Emphasis on handler development so training can continue beyond facilitated training sessions.
Behavior Modification
When it comes to behavior modification I'm a firm believer in what works and catering to the individual dogs needs. For that reason, behavior modification is only offered as private lessons at this time. This will allow us to create a program for your dog as well as give you the tools to maintain your dogs progress between training sessions.
NEW! Group Lessons
By popular demand Group lessons are now available for those who have completed at least one private lesson.
Group lessons are an extension of skills that clients and their dogs learn in private lessons. Group lessons offer the opportunity for you and your dog to practice real life skills in a controlled environment.
Plus, we play lots of games, win prizes and have a lot of fun with our dogs! Classes are held in Cuba, NY and are scheduled based on availability of the students. Join the waitlist now!
Booster Lessons
Liggett Dog Training is excited to offer Booster Lessons for those who want to accelerate their dog's behavior results! Whether you're busy, have a stubborn dog, or just want to move your dog's results along, this is a great option!
Booster lessons are a supplement of 1-5 lessons per week where a dog trainer comes to your home and works with your dog for you on obedience, off leash skills, and behavior modification.
This is in addition to private in-home dog training lessons since results cannot be maintained from this without the owner's involvement. Call for details. Available on a case-by-case basis.
Virtual Training
For those who aren't local, or just prefer a virtual format this is a great option. Depending on your scenario these are usually run as a Q & A and any of the topics offered in person can be offered as virtual training. You also have the option of sending us up to a 5 minute video of your dog for us to discuss.

Free Dog Training Near Me
Twice a year Liggett Dog Training hosts Pack Walks throughout the Cattaraugus and Allegany County. These are free events where dog owners come together to walk their dogs. This is a perfect opportunity for dogs to practice appropriate socialization.
There is no nose touching, playing or interaction between dogs on the walk. ALL DOGS MUST BE LEASHED. Learn more about what a pack walk is by clicking here.
